Genealogy related programs, and their related web sites, that I use regularly

The Master Genealogist (TMG) - unfortunately no longer supported, but contains my decades of research, and will need replacing eventually. Very flexible program for both recording your family, research, sources etc and analysing your data.

- Second Site - extremely flexible way of presenting your genealogy from TMG on the web, with a very responsive developer
- Second site mailing list - monitored by a great lot of helpful, knowledgeable people, including the developeer

RootsMagic (RM10) - used for all new databases. Well supported, easy to use and navigate, with sufficient "smarts" to keep me a happy camper.
Runs on Mac and Windows. Snapshots of my data can be uploaded to my iPad (read only). "Talks" to /from FamilySearch, and can download my Ancestry tree(s)
- RootsMagic Community and FaceBook group are both actively monitored by RootsMagic themselves, and active users

GedSite Use your Genie Software to generate a website from a GEDCOM
- By the developer of SecondSite above, same helpful, prompt answers. Very flexible program for presenting your genealogy to friends, family, the outside world.

The Next Generation (TNG) - comparable to the above TMG/Second Site combination, right down to the responsive developer. The main techinical difference being TNG generates the web pages as required dynamically from the database instead of a set static pages neediing to be pre- generated then uploaded to the web.
