Welcome to the, now not so temporary, replacement for the occasionally AWOL RootsWeb WorldConnect database Lorna Henderson.
I made the mistake of trying to refresh the database with some new data and it had hung at the "loading" stage for several days.
Remedied now, but this version may well still prove useful, even if only for the places map, search function and links to Google maps for the places (the G icon after a place name), particularly as RootsWeb is again down (Dec 2017).
The response to my inquiry to RootsWeb is below.
It bears an amazing similarity to the response received when enquiring about the unavailability of my Guestbook (which resulted in a permanent replacement linked above in the menu.)
I am however prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt for WorldConnect as Ancestry benefits somewhat more from the data we contribute there.
Although this version does not have all the quick view pedigree/descendant charts for each person, you should be able to navigate reasonably easily around using:

As per the WorldConnect database this replaces, please ask me about my sources as only those for people published in my family tree online (BigBrother) have been checked for publication purposes.
We understand that you have encountered problems with the upload and processing of your World Connect tree on Rootsweb. We can appreciate that this is an inconvenience which must be interrupting your work. We are happy to provide you with an update regarding the problem.
We are currently in the process of upgrading our technical infrastructure. Some processes are on hold until this upgrade is complete. This currently includes some World Connect tree processes and features including the updating and processing of these trees. Once the work is finished everything should be working as normal again. Unfortunately, we do not have a timeframe as to when this work may be completed.
